A house by the lake, and a client who loved everything — which is sometimes harder than a client who loves nothing. The brief wasn’t about style, it was about longevity: something that wouldn’t feel tired in five years.
The answer was to strip it back to materials. Natural wood, stone, textures that age well. A calm, timeless base that lets the lake outside do the talking.
When everything feels right and nothing feels forced, that’s usually the result of good restraint — not lack of ideas.
